It’s not even been a week and I am exhausted and have no idea what day it is. Husband is still working long hours from Child One’s bedroom and I am feeling the weight of fulltime parenting. He currently doesn’t really take a lunch break or get dressed, but in his defence he’s worked from home since the twins were born and has always worked this way. He de-scaled the kettle today.

The children have become like Velcro and don’t like me to be out of their sight so getting any housework or washing done is not easy. All three happy little people are at a different level educationally and I am not winning in any attempts at home schooling. I am pulling on all of my PGCE training (in post 16yrs) to try and come up with stuff I can adapt but truthfully I feel like I have spent the past week fire fighting emotions and trying to adapt to this new way of living, so I think I am going to take this week as an Easter holiday week and hopefully, if the Husband engages over the weekend, I’ll get a chance to prepare and make a plan regarding school work. Social media and What’s app groups sharing home schooling successes doesn’t help my feelings of inadequacy. We did the Joe Wicks PE lesson at 9am, surely that’s enough? And printable worksheets are liars! You go to print them, they don’t print one page, but instead reams of pages wasted, that’s precious ink! So we watched a lot of TV today, 2 x David Attenborough Blue Planets, an episode of Blue Peter, the presenters are really happy, to the point of annoying. And the classic that is Bedknobs and Broomsticks, because they needed educating in old musicals. I even managed to doze on the sofa for a few minutes until Child One elbowed me because I had stopped stroking her back.

Went to Sainsbury’s on foot, partly to walk, escape, and to hunt for nuggets. It was fairly quiet in store and people did keep their distance. Quite well stocked, however no nuggets or pasta which are my children’s staple diet. Did have Method hand soap though, which is my preferred choice. Obviously I stockpiled (kidding).
