Sunday begins with my yoga tribe, it’s such a nice way to start the day. The Twins are on the sofa behind me playing a game called ‘Adopt me’. I don’t really understand it, but it evokes many emotions and squabbling, which I do my best to social distance myself from. Child One is in his room watching TV. I have a cup of tea in the garden and inspect my plants, the local squirrel mafia have attacked a number of them. I wish there was a form of scare crow that was effective for squirrels, they are really destructive.
I am going ‘out out’ today, I’ve arranged to meet three of my village mums on the local cricket pitch with a blanket and a bottle of water (it’s sunny). We sit two metres apart and catch up. Initially it feels strange, but it is really nice to see them and share experiences of home schooling. The differences between the schools, and the expectations from the parents, is interesting. We don’t congregate for long and soon depart our separate ways.
It is really warm today; Husband has cleaned out and refreshed the happy little peoples paddling pool. They are delighted and all three of them spend quite a lot of time in it. All of them are becoming quite sun kissed in this weather, especially Twin One who seems to have a more olive tone to her skin. I would have to bask for months to become the colour she has. Who am I kidding, I wouldn’t actually tan that much. I would cheat and obtain it from a bottle but I’m allergic to fake tan, which was highly annoying in my youth of wearing clothing that exposed more skin! Twin Two has my skin and is sun sensitive, even with a high factor sun screen she is pink from the heat; but has the loveliest of freckles across her nose. I feel for the neighbours because the noise level is high and the splashing is ridiculous, Cat isn’t impressed and heads over the back fence. I put my headphones in.
