More animal scripts follow, what have I started? They all take turns using the computer to type it out; we now have about five scripts waiting for production. It seems they like to write the script, laughing out loud at their own jokes, but don’t really have the patience to then act it out together.

Child One and myself do Joe Wicks because we missed it yesterday. The Twins are not interested and are engrossed with minecraft on tablets. As it is technically the school Easter holidays things are generally a bit more relaxed at the moment. Is it just me that thinks Joe Wick’s brother must be whispering profanities in his ear hole throughout the work out? In-between exercises ‘Nikki’ gives the information for shout outs from the people taking part. How on earth could any sibling resist the temptation to say something ridiculous in the hope it gets blurted out? Or change the name of someone to something like Seymour Pants or Amanda Hug. I could go on, but I won’t.

I think Twin One will be suited to some form of vocation that allows her to be the authority. She is very bossy and domineering towards us all, and very much likes to be in charge. Also likes to point out what you are doing wrong, not dissimilar to her Dad. Husband likes nothing more than to point out poor driving on the road, he is very vocal about it and there are times I have to remind him that when he is in my car or with the children perhaps don’t. He would have made an excellent traffic policeman; perhaps if career advisors were more effective in our time he might have gone down that path. Twin One is dictating some form of garden game when I clock Cat making his way down the garden towards us, he has something hanging from his mouth. Please not another robin. For the size of him it’s a wonder he manages to catch anything, and he really only goes hunting out of protest if his bowl hasn’t been filled frequently enough. I lure him into a false sense of security, mass praise etc. and manage to get him to release his jaw and a butterfly staggers out of his mouth, I hold him down long enough for the butterfly to head off. Cat’s not pleased. Oh well, no one in my house is ever particularly pleased at the moment; one more isn’t going to make any difference!

We did the planting today; Twin One took control by writing on the chalkboard all of the different seeds available. Child One and Twin Two took no notice and proceeded as they wanted. Lots of squabbling and impatience and questions followed. I think at one point I yelled ‘just stick your finger in, make a hole and shove a seed in’. The early years practitioner in me had run out of patience by this point. I really hope that my neighbours also hear me on the occasions I talk to my children with the patience and love they deserve.

Husband finishes work and takes over the happy little people; he makes their tea this evening. I take advantage and head out for an early evening walk, my daily exercise. That one permitted trip out of the house is too precious to always use with the happy little people. The evening light is amazing, and a lovely little robin crosses my path. Since lockdown, I don’t think I have exercised so regularly, I am easily hitting my 10,000 daily step target. As I am walking I see others out, families, couples and single people. I wonder if during this time we will relieve some of the other health pressures on the NHS by as a nation becoming healthier.
